David Bryant
With a background in business development and strategic partnerships, David has become a valuable member of the Waterloo community. A lifelong resident and owner of Big Head Burger, a beloved local smash burger restaurant, David is focused on fostering economic growth and empowering local businesses in Waterloo and beyond. His dedication to giving back drove him to create Best Fest, a musical festival celebrating Waterloo and all the residents who make it an incredible place to live.
Cecilia Swearingen
Cecilia brings to the role her dedication to helping others, building on her background as an Executive Assistant & Accounting Specialist. A California native, she relocated to Iowa for a quieter lifestyle. Cecilia’s passion for supporting children, especially foster youth, shines through her extensive volunteer work. She remains committed to helping children reach their full potential and will bring that passion to her new community and position.
Brandon Ross
Brandon is a two-time graduate of the University of Northern Iowa (B.A. in Social Service and Teaching), with over ten years of service in the Waterloo Community Schools. Brandon now serves as an Instructional Strategist at Hoover Middle School. He has coached multiple sports for a decade with the Waterloo Community School District and was named Para Educator of the Year in 2017. Beyond his professional roles, Brandon actively supports local initiatives and community projects, eager to contribute to Waterloo’s future.
